Hello people,
Good news are coming from GNOME! They have released GNOME 3.0 alpha version which you can download and try. First impression is that Gnome 3.0 on Ubuntu looks very nice, elegant and more organized. Unfortunately GNOME 3.0 will break some deadlines and will be late on final release. We can all contribute by testing it!
I am attaching some desktop-s from Gnome3.org website since download is extremely slow at the moment of writing. :)
You can download it from http://www.gnome3.org/tryit.html
You can install it in two ways:
To run from a CD/DVD, burn the download to a disk, insert into your computer and reboot.
To run the GNOME 3 alpha from a USB stick:
Download the USB image writer (below) and extract it
Open a terminal and navigate to the extracted image writer folder (eg. $ cd Downloads/abock-image-usb-stick-f3b1002)
Prepare the image writer by running: $ chmod a+x ./image-usb-stick
Remove any USB storage devices that you might have connected to your computer and insert the empty USB stick that you want to write to
Run the image writer script: $ sudo ./image-usb-stick path_to_the_live_image.iso
To run the live image, reboot your computer with the USB stick attached
I am quite interested in what do you think about it and how it looks to you? Leave a comment below.

Great and beautiful! Like!
So nice! Thanks for the update! Glad you're back in action.
Cheers,

If you translate that in English i will reply for sure.
i will try to translate..
this like so good! but this sound like ubuntu remix?
in my experience, if i use Pentium IV with 256 or 512 MB of RAM in my PC-Desktop... i fell so heavy to load at start up....
any body else? or something else?

sory, i just try to translate.. i hope you understood what i do.
thnks.
It is true. With that much of RAM memory you should try LXDE environment. Try Lubuntu or even better new Linux Mint with LXDE RC1! It works great!

Thanx for translate,
BUT maybe, if we try on Net/notebook it's looking good and fast
I've been tried
thanx
Well in this stage i am quite sure that GNOME 3 will work just great on almost anything since it really flights over my computer. But what final product will be and how fast that will be, for that answer we will have to wait.
I have to say, i have been away from the Ubuntu community for a year and i am truly impressed with the advances they have made.. it is much cleaner and easier to use,, if i remember right people wanted something more "like" the UN-named competitor's #7 and i say: job well done.. this is even better and easer to navigate...
this is something windows users can adapt to!!!
Keep up the great work!
